Why it was built

Built for a restaurant brand with several locations and a signature dish guests like to customize. The site has to make that dish tempting, help every diet at the table find something, and send people to the right location, waitlist or catering form.

The sample business

A sushi and ramen brand with restaurants in Little Tokyo, Torrance and Costa Mesa, and a ten-seat omakase counter at the back of the Little Tokyo one. Guests choose by the bowl, the diet at the table and the closest location, so the site leads with a ramen builder, filters the menu, and gives each restaurant its own page, hours and waitlist.

What the site does

  • Builds a ramen from four broths, three noodles and nine toppings, swapping real photos, with a share link
  • Filters a photo menu by no raw fish, spicy, vegetarian or gluten-free; the dish photo follows the cursor
  • Runs the nine-course Little Tokyo omakase sideways across the screen as you scroll
  • Draws the coast as you scroll and sets the three restaurants on it, each with hours and a waitlist
  • Takes group, sushi-platter and ramen-cart inquiries, with fields that change by the request
  • Adds events, gift cards and careers

Pages

  • Home — brush-written opening, the morning scene, the ramen bowl builder, omakase and the three restaurants
  • Menu — a photo menu with filters for no raw fish, spicy, vegetarian and gluten-free
  • Omakase — how the counter works, nine courses that run sideways as you scroll, a seating button
  • Locations — the three restaurants on a coast map, open now, and their hours side by side
  • Restaurant pages — address, hours, parking, dishes only served there, waitlist and pickup buttons
  • Catering — group dinners, sushi platters and a ramen cart, with a form that changes by request
  • Events — upcoming events with save-the-date buttons, and private events
  • Gift Cards and Careers — buy and balance buttons for gift cards, and open roles with an apply link

How it moves

  • The brush-written name is uncovered top to bottom, like a stroke, as the page opens
  • Smooth scrolling, headings that rise line by line, photos that drift slower than the page
  • The morning scene holds still while three photos and lines take turns
  • The bowl photos cross-fade slowly as you change the broth or noodles

Who it suits

  • Ramen and sushi restaurants with two or more locations
  • Restaurant groups that need a page for each location
  • Build-your-bowl spots such as poke, bibimbap or pho
  • Restaurants with an omakase or chef's counter inside
  • Restaurants that take group dinners and catering

Make it yours

Swap in your name, logo, bowl photos, menu and prices, and each location's address, hours and parking. Connect your domain, send the catering form to your email, and connect your waitlist, reservation, ordering and gift card services to their buttons. The ramen builder could also become a poke or bibimbap builder.

  • Use it as isYour name, logo, photos and details go in, your domain is connected, and it opens with this design.
  • Build on itKeep what works for you and we change the rest around your business: layout, colors, pages and features.

The business is fictional: names, addresses and phone numbers are samples. The site itself works as you see it.
