Why it was built

Built for a restaurant group with several locations and a menu that turns with the seasons. Its site has to lead with the current course, give each location its own page and take reservations, private dining and catering inquiries.

The sample business

A modern Korean course restaurant with a flagship in Koreatown, a dining room in Beverly Hills and a harbor house in Newport Beach. The seven-plate course changes four times a year, so the site leads with the season. Guests also come for the chef's counter, the private rooms and catering, and each of those gets its own page.

What the site does

  • Shows each season's seven-plate course on a timeline that opens on today's season
  • Filters à la carte plates in real photos by season, vegetarian, nothing raw and gluten-free, with pairings
  • Gives the three locations their own pages with open hours and seatings, and a selector with an ink map
  • Takes reservations that know each location's seatings and closed days and show that date's course
  • Adds private dining, a catering inquiry form, seasonal events, press, the chef's story and gift cards

Pages

  • Home — this season's course plate by plate, the four seasons, the locations, private dining and press
  • Seasons — four seven-plate courses on a timeline, plus the chef's counter
  • À la carte — plates in photos with dietary filters, pairings, and Korean spirits by the bottle
  • Locations — a selector with an ink map, and a page per location with hours, seatings and rooms
  • Reservations — a request form by location, seating, party size, private room and diet
  • Private Dining — the rooms behind paper doors and how to book them
  • Catering — three ways to cater and an inquiry form
  • Chef, Events and Press — the chef's story and growers, holiday dinners, a press kit request form

How it moves

  • A seal is pressed and the name is brushed in over the season's plate, filling the first screen
  • Turning a season shifts the page's color and reveals the next plate the way ink spreads on paper
  • Pinned scenes read the course down a menu card and slide a private room's paper doors open
  • Smooth scrolling, headlines rising line by line and photos drifting inside their mats

Who it suits

  • Korean course and tasting-menu restaurants
  • Restaurant groups with two or more locations
  • Fine dining rooms with private dining and catering
  • Restaurants whose menu changes with the seasons

Make it yours

Swap in your name, logo, courses and plates with photos, locations, seatings and hours, and connect your domain. The reservation, catering and press forms can go to your email, and the waitlist and gift card buttons can link to the tools you use. One idea: turn the season timeline into a monthly menu.

  • Use it as isYour name, logo, photos and details go in, your domain is connected, and it opens with this design.
  • Build on itKeep what works for you and we change the rest around your business: layout, colors, pages and features.

The business is fictional: names, addresses and phone numbers are samples. The site itself works as you see it.
